Gateway Homes Inc. is an organization who believes that all individuals should be treated with dignity and respect and have the same opportunities in life as everyone else. Setting goals, dreaming big and being able to have real choice is a real priority for us to provide for the homeowners.
About Us
Gateway is a non-profit company established in 1988. Its mandate is to provide a range of community supports to a group of people with itellectual and developmental disabilities who lived for many years either in institutions or in their own family homes. Most of these people are now middle-aged or retired.
The people we support have a wide range of skills, gifts, and requirements. All have needs that, in one way or another, will present a challenge to those who support them. Everybody involved in Gateway believes that, given time and with individualized support provided in a home and community setting, the people we support will learn many new things, and build positive relationships with others.
We are looking for individuals who:
- Believe all people should be treated with dignity and respect.
- Have minimum 1year relevant post secondary university or college education.
- Have had a meaningful life experiences with individuals with disabilities.
- Have the desire to build relationships and to support the personal needs, interests and goals individuals who have intellectual disabilities.
- Have empathy and compassion.
